Mary & Sarah first met when they moved into Great Oak Cohousing, Ann Arbor, MI in 2003. Since then they have been learning from, and building on, each others' strengths as both community members and as professional collaborators.

Mary & Sarah developed a passion for sharing the skills and tools they’ve learned to navigate the challenges of cooperative living. In 2014, they created We Can Work It Out, LLC to support and empower other groups seeking to live and work together joyfully.

Mary & Sarah focus on training groups to have effective meetings, recognize and leverage individual and collective strengths, and develop meaningful, concrete, implementable outcomes.
