South Pasadena, California
Alexandria Levitt is the President of Levitt Coho, working to develop Senior Cohousing in Southern California. Levitt is also President of SAGE Senior Cohousing Advocates, a non-profit which works to support the development of more senior cohousing neighborhoods in the United States and Canada. As a gerontologist, she is interested in creating housing for older adults that doesn’t just show off a “lifestyle” imagined by corporate developers but one that reinforces the qualities that help us most as we get older – friendship, community and purpose. She is very familiar with the many challenges facing older adults and the remarkable connection between health (both mental and physical) and social engagement.
Levitt is a member of the Senior Citizen Commission of South Pasadena, California and leads aging and cohousing workshops in the area. Her goal is to move the needle in the creation of more cohousing neighborhoods. Visit her website levittcoho.com to learn more.
